1.Caste: It
is welknown fact that in INDIA father of
a child decides the caste of his son and daughter.Meaning when
Husband and wife give birth to a child,the caste of father will be the caste of
child.When a husband is holding a caste certificate of particular caste then
that caste is of his child’s caste.This is true then logically what is the need
to apply for a caste certificate separately of a child or a son/daughter of say
18 year old ?One can show father”s caste certificate and an his relation with
his/her father.
2.Validity
certificate:In Maharashtra,though you have caste certificate ,it is not
enough,you have to get the validity certificate,Here both are state government
agencies then why caste certificate is issued initially and then validity
certificate.Logically stop issuing caste certificate and directly issue valid caste
certificate by caste validity committee.

It was 1992,I was on duty.I was on checking duty on Dakshin Express
NZM-HYB.I boarded the train at Nagpur Railway Station.At Warora 2000 Hrs ,I
entered
another coach,at the EXIT passage near door,I found two extremely beautiful
ladies in twenties standing/waiting.Both were with their new born babies.I
asked them their tickets,when I found them searching their handbag,I asked them
to be ready with tickets.I moved forward ,train was moving.After one minute I
came back and found no ladies standing,I checked the doors were closed from
inside,I checked lavatories,they were not inside.Where they disappeared when there
was no place to hide. This is still a mystery to me.My Working in Indian Railways

When I started entering different
coaches for Ticket Checking ,I found that passengers ask several
questions,requests and complaints.One passenger from Mumbai,next from Chennai
and so on,the coaches of the railways were and are filled with passengers from all
walks of life in India.Each coach represents India in a beautiful manner
,displaying unity and integrity in uniform way.I never ignored any
request,complaint,suggestion from passengers,I tried to solve the issue myself
and wherever possible tried to communicate with higher officials.Soon I became
familiar with internal working of all departments of Indian Railways.Trying to
find solutions now helping me at my consultancy after my voluntary retirement

In 1990 at Sewagram Railway Station I
began my railway career as Ticket Collector.I was the only Ticket Collector at
the station. The first duty schedule was from 0800 Hrs to 1600 Hrs.On first day
I came on station at 0730 Hrs and signed the Duty Muster.My duty was to collect
tickets at gate/Exit and to check its validity.At Sewagram railway station at
that time were three platforms.The exit gate as well as my separate office were
in station building connected to Platform 1 via Foot over bridge.Whenever there
was any train arriving I had to attend the gate.After 4 trains I found that the
passengers coming at the Exit gate were all with valid tickets and no passengers
were ticketless.The main reason was I
was in Uniform standing at the gate and almost all passengers used right short
cut ground level exit by crossing the railway line at the end of platform.I
noticed this and immediately wrote a letter to our Sr.DCM.{ This was the same
Sr.DCM who awarded me as an Announcer earlier in January ]
The letter was like below………….
Respected Sir,
I respect the working style of yours
and I believe you to fulfill my working request.I at the gate in uniform not
able to nab the ticketless nor I able to detect any irregularity.I want you to
give me a target so that I can move on the trains and recover the railway dues.I will be highly
obliged if you permit me to do such thing.

as Fire Officer,I went back to Nagpur.There two Job postings waiting for
me.One at Mumbai as JAO in BPT and Second at Wardha East [ now Sewagram ]
Railway Station as Ticket Collector .Which job should I pick was the
confusion.The job near to my residence was Ticket Collector and hence I joined
Indian Railways as Ticket Collector at Sewagram Railway Station.

Normally by birth you are in a vegetarian / non-vegetarian family then you have no choice in a childhood.I born in a vegetarian family and hence by birth I am vegetarian.Later I studied in a residential school,there I got choice/option but I not changed my menu of vegetarian.Though I am vegetarian but I do not want to oppose non-vegetarians.Almost 95% people have no choice.

First Cycling trip in 1981
When I was in 9th standard
,I for the first time by bicycle with my class visited Saptshrungi Mata
Temple,Wani a 39 km distance from Nashik.Thereafter I was so correct in my
bicycle driving on road that later in my life I used bicycle to visit different
villages.I still think that one must have bicycle in his house for healthy
exercise.
When first time I visited INS VIKRANT in 1981
My first trip to INS VIKRANT in 1981
In my school I joined NCC[National
Cadet Core}naval wing in 1981.We went on to visit INDIA”s flagship INS VIKRANT
at that time .Mine was the first such
experience.What a huge ship that was !We were given freedom to move everywhere
on the ship.It was a aircraft carrier.At that time I thought about our naval
enemy and now also I do not figure it out in today’s circumstances.I personally
feel navy and their different services must be used for public transportation
service in free exercise time to utilize our huge coastal area.

My first job was as an Announcer at
Nagpur Railway Station in 1990 after joining Central Railway on 03/11/1989.I
was not knowing anything about announcing and neither I received any training
to do such specialized job.In mid-January 1990,there was an accident on Mumbai
route.Trains were diverted .At that time announcing on different Platforms to
direct passengers was very important,I was standingly performing my announcing
job non-stop in the night.At 0100 hrs in the night ,I saw one person looking at
me from the door,I was in no mood to leave announcing and attend to him ,rather
talk to him. I ignored him.Next day I read in the newspaper that a cash award
announced to me for my announcing job.The stranger standing in the night at the
door was none other than Sr.Divisional Commercial Manager of the Nagpur
Division.

Before joining for FIRE OFFICER training
at National Fire Service College [NFSC],Nagpur from 1 January 1990,I joined Indian
Railways at Nagpur on 3rd November 1989.Two services overlapped each-other.I
asked my railway authorities to post me as an ANNOUNCER at Nagpur Railway
Station in a 11PM—07AM shift.They agreed and my CIRCUS started.My schedule at
that time was
11pm-0645am –Announcer duty at Nagpur
Railway Station
0700am-0800-Physical Training at NFSC,Nagpur
0830-NFSC hostel breakfast
0930am-1230pm Lectures at NFSC,Nagpur
0100 pm-Lunch
0400pm-0600pm –Fire Drill at
NFSC,Nagpur
0800pm Dinner at NFSC,Hostel
Nagpur railway station to NFSC hostel
was 3 km distance and I used bicycle at that time.
When I went to Ahemadabad for
practical training as FIRE OFFICER ,I reported sick at health unit of Central
Railway,Nagpur.

Your Suggestion: The present carrying capacity of certain trains in some
segments not fully utilized.we must explore the carrying capacity to the full.For example
one such train is Nandigram express which runs from Nagpur to Mumbai.via Adilabad
daily number 11401 and 11402.Train route Nagpur to Adilabad via Warora,Wani is not
utilized fully to its carrying capacity in this section,lt runs almost empty in this segment
for last several years.lf we reduce the sleeper class fare from Nagpur to Adilabad and
for all inbetween stations to Rs 30/- and AC3Tier fare to Rs 100/- then due to reduced
fares the train will definitely gain traffic.
What Positive change your Suggestion will bring: The train at present runs without
passenger in Nagpur-Adilabad section and its carrying capacity remained unutilized for
last several years.The reduced common fare will certainly bring traffic in large numbers
on this train in this section which increases railway revenue and there is no point if we
run train without passengers.
How to lmplement: First publish with full schedule of train with reduced fare in
Newspapers from Nagpur and Adilabad for at least a year.The common SL fare Rs 30/-
and AC3T Rs 1O0/-will benefit passengers at our no extra cost.All stations booking
counters will be allowed to book passengers for this train on EFT so that to get seperate
accountability.

When I felt awkward
In 1990 when I was undergoing Fire
Officer training,we were sent to,Main Fire Station,Muncipal
Corporation,Gollimada, Ahemadabad,Gujrat ,India for a 8 week practical training
from National Fire Service College,Nagpur.On one Sunday ,I went to Central City
Bus Depot to catch a bus. I went inside one bus and occupied a seat. A girl in
her twenties came and sat beside me .Suddenly that girl start crying.Slowly
some passengers noticed her crying and they all were noticing me beside her as
if I had done something to her.I was in a very awkward situation.I had to leave
the seat and came down ,there I got one money pocket ,I opened it,Rs 100/-note
was inside.No other thing inside.First I searched if anybody searching for
POCKET,I found none.I wanted it to handover it to Police but I asked myself
what I could be done if Police pocketed the amount.I rejected my own idea of
returning the amount.I went to nearby breakfast stall and there I found two
small girls begging.I called them .Asked them if they wanted to do breakfast
and after their affirmation spent Rs 100 on breakfast.Thereafter till today I
never donated Money,When I want to donate I personally create situation to
spend money on eatables on others.

In 1990 I was selected to undergo
FIRE OFFICER training at National Fire Service
College,Nagpur,Maharashtra,India.We were given hostel accommodation on Hislop
College road behind Civil Defence college,Nagpur.We used to attend lectures in National
Fire Service College,situated opposite High Court at 0930 am onwards and for
that in a disciplined manner in Khaki uniform with cap daily were coming from our hostel via Hislop college in three
rows a nearly 200 meter distance.Some girls on their vehicles were coming
behind on Hislop College road shouting comments like “Hallow Handsome “”Hi….”when
we passes on road.Some of our colleagues were really serious about these
comments and were discussing over it.One from Mumbai was so serious that he
talked at length with me and two of my friends about these girls comments.We
three planned to take advantage of situation and drafted a beautiful love
letter in the name of the candidate from Mumbai and posted it, in his name at our
college address.The love letter was like this.
My Dear Avi,You may be
surprised to find how I got your name but don’t you have you wear your name
badge on your uniform.You
are really handsome and I am daily watching you coming and going on our college
road.I like you and your whole attire ,I want to meet you.I am posting this
letter on your college address .Can you meet me on this coming SUNDAY at
Maharaj Bag[garden] gate at 11 in the Morning,I will be wearing Pink T-shirt and blue
jeans and you wear blue T- shirt and jeans.I do not want to miss you ,waiting
for you----Yours===Rita.
We waited for this letter to be
handed over by Postman to our Mumbai friend,we were not consulted by him that
he received a love letter .The coming Sunday at 9 in the morning we found him
dressed in blue T-shirt and jeans.We asked him where he was going but he was in
no mood to share.At 6 in the evening he came back,disappointment on his face
but we could not able to tell him the architect of that love letter.
